If you love spicy food, Hiroshima has three local noodle dishes for you: Hiroshima Oyster Ramen (Red), Soupless Tantanmen and Hiroshima Tsukemen. You can try all three near Miyajima at Hiroshima Ramen Momiji, at the ferry terminal.
1. Soupless Tantanmen
The most adjustable of the three: choose mild, medium or hot. Chili brings the heat and sansho pepper brings a tingling, numbing feeling. Comes with a small bowl of rice (¥1,080).

2. Hiroshima Oyster Ramen (Red)
Fresh Hiroshima oysters in a rich broth with a mild chili kick. Spicy, but the oysters stay the star (¥1,780).

3. Hiroshima Tsukemen
Cold noodles dipped into a spicy sauce. A good choice on warm days.

Not into spice?
Hiroshima Ramen (¥1,030) and Hiroshima Oyster Ramen (White) are not spicy. Prices are tax included, as of October 2026.
Where to try it
